The topics presented are not discipline specific. However, the entire text is in an appropriate variety and is suitable for those wishing to attend lectures in English-speaking countries.
The number of questions presented in the reading section is 38 to 42 items - often 40 questions. The time given to complete the reading questions is 60 minutes.
The reading section question format includes: multiple choice, short answer, completing sentences, completing tables/charts/summaries/notes/flow, selecting a series of words/phrases from the column above the text, identifying the author's views or attitudes, classification, matching lists, and match phrases. The difficulty level of the questions in the initial numbers is categorized as easy, then in subsequent questions the difficulty level becomes higher.
